Abstract

 

The hydrodynamic escape problem (HEP) is significant on the study of the evolution of planetary atmospheres. In this talk, I would like to introduction the physical phenomenon of this problem, and introduce the mathematical model to describe this phenomenon. Both stationary and time evolutionary cases will be discussed in this talk. We establish the transonic stationary solution for HEP by the geometric singular perturbation (GSP) method. And the global transonic entropy solution for time evolutionary model is obtained by generalized Glimm method.
